Customer Success Assistant

AEM (Association of Equipment Manufacturers) is a Top Workplace 2022 named by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and is hiring a Customer Success Assistant.  We are offering this opportunity to a service-oriented professional who enjoys variety and challenge to join our team of Membership and Sales professionals.   

This position supports the Membership Engagement & Sales Team (MEST) in providing customer service to internal and external customers. In this role you will also handle the daily administration of activities related to the sales, relationship and customer service function and support the AEM toll free line, AEM and exhibitor telephone customer service line and email.  

The hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with two teleworking days per week. 

Responsibilities:  

• Answer customer service calls and emails, including responding to inbound emails from exhibitors and members.  

• Make outbound calls to promote events, collect payments, and conduct general outreach.  

• Proactive customer service: tradeshow exhibitor onboarding sessions, exhibitor webinars, outreach for deadlines, and member engagement.  

• Handle complaints and provide appropriate alternatives within the limits of the process.  

• Research prospective members, exhibitors, and sponsors. 

• Data entry and generating reports using SMART.  

• Collaborate with other departments.  

• Assist sales reps with various tasks/outreach.   

Requirements:   

A successful candidate will have at minimum an Associate's degree or will have 2-4 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate: 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent problem-solving skills. 

• Experience in working within a customer service environment.  

• Self-motivated and can operate in a fast-paced environment.
