Jake Colvin is President of the National Foreign Trade Council, the leading business association dedicated solely to advancing the interests of U.S. companies in international commerce.
As President, he leads efforts to advance global commerce through the promotion of international trade and tax policies that contribute to economic growth and job creation. He oversees NFTC’s work to strengthen the rules, norms and institutions that enable access to the global economy and emphasizes the role of trade in solving complex global problems.
Alexander Russ
Senior Advisor, Global Public Policy
Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM)
Serving as AEM’s Senior Advisor, Global Public Policy, Russ is tasked with developing and coordinating industry positions on U.S. and international policy, helping companies identify and overcome legislative and regulatory barriers to economic growth, and managing relationships with senior U.S. and foreign government officials. He has been featured on C-SPAN, Financial Times, Reuters, Toronto Star, The Hill and numerous industry publications.
Prior to joining AEM, Alex was a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives handling trade, foreign affairs, transportation, environment, and energy policy. While working on the Hill, Russ also advised a Member of Congress on the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee focusing on issues impacting the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
He holds a Master of Science from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in Canada.
